Terms of service

These terms are an agreement between you and Overcrank ("we"). By creating an account or using Overcrank, you agree to them, to the usage policy and to how we handle data in the privacy policy. If you use Overcrank for a company or team, you’re agreeing for them, and you confirm you’re allowed to.

Your account

• You need to be at least 16 to create an account.
• Keep your sign-in safe. You’re responsible for what happens on your account and on Macs signed in to it.
• Team admins manage the team’s plan, members, devices and AI key, and can see the team’s usage.

Plans, trials and payment

• Free includes Drivetrain, Readout and Cruise Control with no time limit.
• Trial: new accounts get 14 days of every feature. When it ends, the account moves to Free unless you choose a plan.
• Paid plans (Driver and Crew) renew automatically each month or year until you cancel. Prices are shown before you pay and include any taxes we’re required to charge.
• Changes: upgrades start right away, with the difference charged pro rata. Downgrades and cancellations take effect at the end of the period you’ve paid for, and you keep the plan until then.
• Refunds: payments aren’t refundable except where the law requires it or we say otherwise in writing.
• Failed payments: if a payment fails, you have a 7-day grace period to update your card. After that, the account moves to Free until it’s paid.
• Price changes: we’ll tell you at least 30 days before a price change affects your plan.

AI credits and your own key

• AI features use credits. One credit is worth $0.01 of AI usage. Monthly credits reset each period and don’t carry over. Extra credits you buy are used after your monthly credits and expire one year after purchase. Credits have no cash value and can’t be refunded or transferred.
• If your team adds its own AI key, AI runs on it and uses no credits. You’re responsible for your agreement with that AI provider and its charges. If the key stops working, AI pauses until it’s fixed; we don’t switch to our credits without asking.

Your files and content

• Your files are yours. We don’t claim any ownership of your media, file names or instructions.
• You give us permission to process what the app sends us (described in the privacy policy) only to provide and improve the service for you.
• You’re responsible for having the rights to the media you work with, and for keeping backups. Overcrank verifies copies and lets you undo organizing changes, but no software can replace a backup.

AI suggestions

AI output can be wrong. Review the preview before you apply a change. You decide what gets applied.

The software

• We grant you a personal, non-transferable licence to use the app while your account is in good standing.
• The app includes open-source components under their own licences, listed in the app under Settings → This Mac.
• The app updates itself. Some features need an internet connection and a current version.
• Don’t copy, modify or reverse-engineer the app except where the law allows it or an open-source licence permits it.

Ending the agreement

You can stop using Overcrank and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms or the usage policy, or if the law requires it. Where it’s reasonable, we’ll give notice first. If we ever shut down a paid service, we’ll give at least 30 days’ notice and refund unused prepaid time.

Disclaimers

Overcrank is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we don’t promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that it will suit every purpose. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that can’t be waived.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits, lost data or lost work. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or $50 if that’s more. This doesn’t limit liability that the law doesn’t allow us to limit.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change is meaningful, we’ll tell you in the app or by email at least 30 days before it takes effect. If you keep using Overcrank after that, the new terms apply.

General

If part of these terms can’t be enforced, the rest still applies. These terms, the usage policy and the privacy policy are the whole agreement between us about Overcrank.
